Banksia Bossa Nova was developed during a camping trip to Alexander Bay in South-West Western Australia. Our camp site was surrounded by “showy banksias” flowering profusely, and attracting birds—and a lizard. I painted a small series of banksia artworks, which were sold, but retained this painting for a “Flora in Wilderness” series, which was in the early planning stages at this time.
