River Red Gums (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) at Trephina Bluff was painted on location early in our travels around Australia’s wilderness areas.
The dry expanse of the creek bed stretches away in the distance. The river red gums in the foreground clearly display a large insect gall on the trunk, often observed in these hardy river denizens.
In the background of the paintings is Trephina Bluff, which we climbed with some adventurous fellow travellers. It looks more daunting than it was, in reality, and the views were spectacular.
